Celonis announced a new partnership with Databricks to help customers operationalize artificial intelligence (AI) through process intelligence.

Revealed during Celosphere 2025, the integration leverages Delta Sharing to directly connect the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.

Delta Sharing is Databricks’ open-source approach that enables customers to share live data across platforms, clouds, and regions with strong security and governance. Customers can use Celonis to read live data stored in Databricks and enrich it with their organization’s unique business context to create a living digital twin of their operations, according to the announcement.

What’s more, process intelligence can be fed back into Agent Bricks, Databricks’ flagship AI product, which builds production-quality AI agents optimized on an organization’s data.

Using process intelligence to operationalize AI

The bi-directional integration eliminates the need to move or copy data between the two platforms, stated a press release. It breaks down data silos, reduces data copies, limits synchronization errors, enhances security, and simplifies data governance.

Meanwhile, with data and process intelligence flowing freely between the two platforms, customers get a continuous learning loop for AI-driven operations.

“We want to give customers choice when deciding how they use AI to transform their business,” said Marc Kinast, VP corporate development at Celonis. “With this integration, we’re offering them a strong foundation for effective enterprise AI. Databricks brings its secure, governed data infrastructure and industry-leading agentic development tools and we bring our unique process intelligence that provides the operational context AI needs to succeed. It’s a powerful combination.”

Turning process insights into intelligent action

Enterprises want AI that truly understands their business, commented Sarah Branfman, global VP, ISV and data partner GTM at Databricks. “By connecting Celonis’ process intelligence with the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, we’re giving customers a direct path to build and deploy custom AI agents with Agent Bricks – grounded in their own live, governed data. It’s how organizations turn process insights into real, intelligent action.”

Process intelligence is an emerging, data, and technology-driven approach to process management. The process intelligence market has seen significant growth in the last few years, transforming equally as fast with new entrants emerging with fresh approaches to gathering information and analyzing how people work.

Almost a quarter (23 percent) of surveyed firms use process intelligence to support business transformation, the PEX Report 2025/26 found. Furthermore, 22 percent are planning to increase investment in process intelligence in the coming year.
