A new initiative called Process Intelligence Africa has launched to inspire process knowledge and skills across the continent. It aims to build Africa's capability in process intelligence and prepare the next generation of professionals for the future of work.

Process intelligence Africa was founded by Phiwinhlanhla Ntsada, a business process transformation and process excellence practitioner with over 15 years of industry experience across multiple sectors.

With a strong foundation as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, the founder has spent years applying and teaching traditional business process management (BPM), Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.

The PEX Report 2025/26 found that almost a quarter (23 percent) of surveyed firms use process intelligence to support business transformation. Meanwhile, 22 percent are planning to increase investment in process intelligence in the coming year.

Process Intelligence Africa launches

“Africa is rich in talent, ambition, and opportunity, yet the continent remains significantly underrepresented in the global process intelligence ecosystem,” read the Process Intelligence Africa website. “At leading international conferences and technology summits, African voices, institutions, and practitioners are still too few.”

This gap is not due to lack of potential, but a lack of early exposure, structured education, and accessible upskilling pathways. “Process Intelligence Africa exists to change that.”

4 core goals of Process Intelligence Africa

To democratize process intelligence knowledge across Africa by:

  1. Introducing process mining and process intelligence education at universities.
  2. Equipping students with practical, immediately applicable industry skills.
  3. Upskilling corporate professionals in process intelligence and operational excellence (OPEX).
  4. Building a pan-African community of process intelligence practitioners.

“We bring together process professionals, students, educators, and industry partners to learn, share, and grow process intelligence capability across Africa,” the site read. “Whether you're just starting your journey or are an experienced practitioner, there’s a place for you here.”
