Lagardère Travel Retail, a global leader in the travel retail industry, is enhancing operational excellence (OPEX) in partnership with Yoobic and with the appointment of Frédéric Chevalier as new co-CEO.
Alongside employee experience platform provider Yoobic, Lagardère Travel Retail rolled out ‘TeamUp’ – an all-in-one app designed to boost OPEX and frontline staff engagement – across five countries. In the same week, the firm announced the appointment of Chevalier, who will serve in this role alongside Dag Rasmussen, chairman and CEO.
Both moves aim to improve OPEX at Lagardère Travel Retail, which operates over 4,900 stores across various travel locations like airports and railway stations.

Driving OPEX with Yoobic partnership
Initially launched Switzerland, TeamUp has now been introduced to Lagardère Travel Retail teams in the UK, Belgium, North America and Italy, connecting more than 2,800 employees across five markets.
The app has demonstrated its ability to deliver measurable improvements as Lagardère Travel Retail seeks to modernize retail operations. It drives OPEX by improving task execution and enabling real-time feedback loops between headquarters and store teams. Meanwhile, it empowers employees by facilitating seamless access to information, training and internal communications. The solution also reinforces cultural cohesion by strengthening the sense of belonging across decentralized teams and geographies.
“In a fast-paced retail environment, equipping our teams with intuitive and efficient tools is key not only to consistency and performance but also to motivation and long-term engagement,” said Charlotte Delmas, chief operational performance officer and regional COO Europe.

Lagardère Travel Retail focuses on OPEX with Frédéric Chevalier appointment
Like the Yoobic collaboration, Chevalier’s promotion to co-CEO is aimed at enhancing Lagardère Travel Retail’s OPEX. Chevalier joined the firm in 2006 and has served as deputy CEO since July 2024. In his new role, he will work alongside Rasmussen and be fully responsible for overseeing the company’s worldwide operations, with all executive committee members reporting directly to him.
“I am delighted that Frédéric Chevalier has been appointed to join me in leading Lagardère Travel Retail into its next era of growth,” said Rasmussen. “Frédéric’s in-depth knowledge of our business, his pivotal role in its transformation and his strong leadership make him uniquely qualified to lead the next phase of our journey – focusing on the next steps, leveraging our strengths, preserving our unique corporate culture and meeting the challenges of a constantly evolving environment.”
He embodies Lagardère Travel Retail’s commitment to OPEX and its founding principles, Rasmussen added. “I know that in his new role he will drive our strategy with clarity, ambition and a deep sense of responsibility toward our teams, our partners and our shareholders.”
