Global food manufacturer Kraft Foods renewed its focus on operational excellence several years ago since which time the company has put in over 1000 Six Sigma green belts, 20 Master Black Belts and 50 Black Belts, according to Jim Durkin, VP Operations - Cheese at Kraft Foods. The operational excellence program was first focused in manufacturing but has since expanded its focus to other areas of the business such as procurement in order to incorporate the end to end value chain.
