Appian announces global leadership changes to drive AI in process growth
Strategic hires aim to support Appian’s commitment to expanding its market leadership and delivering exceptional value to customers

Process software vendor Appian announced the expansion of its sales leadership team by appointing three seasoned leaders to bolster its presence and drive growth across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
Vicky Nisbet joins as SVP of sales in the UK and EMEA, Vincent Perrin takes on the role of VP of EMEA North and Rob Cook becomes area VP of EMEA North for broad markets and public sector.
These strategic hires support Appian’s commitment to expanding its market leadership and delivering exceptional value to customers in the region, according to the announcement. In May, Appian published its first quarter 2025 financial results with cloud subscriptions revenue increasing 15 percent year-over-year.

Leadership changes aim to grow Appian’s AI and process orchestration offerings

- Nisbet brings a track record of success from over two decades in enterprise sales leadership with SAP and Oracle. Most recently, Vicky served as SVP at Salesforce.
- Perrin has nearly 12 years of experience at Salesforce, where he most recently held the position of area VP.
- Cook joins from Salesloft, where he was VP of enterprise sales EMEA and UK country leader.
Appian financial results demonstrate earnings potential
“In Q1, Appian continued to demonstrate our earnings potential, with narrowing net losses, our third straight quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA and US$45 million in operating cash flow,” said Matt Calkins, CEO and founder.
Cloud subscriptions revenue was $99.8 million, up 15 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024. Total subscriptions revenue, which includes sales of cloud subscriptions, on-premises term license subscriptions and maintenance and support, increased 14 percent year-over-year to $134.4 million.
Professional services revenue was $32.1 million, flat compared to the first quarter of 2024. Total revenue was $166.4 million, up 11 percent compared to the first quarter of 2024. Cloud subscriptions revenue retention rate was 112 percent as of March 31, 2025.
Net cash provided by operating activities was $45.0 million for the three months ended March 31, 2025 compared to $18.9 million of net cash provided by operating activities for the same period in 2024.
