It's time to move beyond projects, says the Vice President of Six Sigma at one of Canada's leading packaged food companies. Bruce Miyashita, Vice President of Six Sigma at Maple Leaf Foods argues that companies need to think about quality and improvement in what he calls a more process-centric way. He met up with the Process Excellence Network in London recently to talk about ways that his company has built a sustainable continuous improvement program. He also talks about how Maple Leaf Foods responded to a major crisis a couple of years ago when a number of people died after eating contaminated deli meat produced at one of their factories.
