For many certifications it is clear which professional organization provides the most respected and widely accepted certification: ASQ for the CQE, PMI for the PM. There seem to be multiple, widely recognized Lean, Lean Six Sigma, and Six Sigma providers that provide training. Lockheed, GE, Xerox all utilize a large number of six sigma trained employees. I believe that the ASQ and Institute of Industrial Engineers six sigma and lean certifications are recognized. Villanova University, Carnegie Mellon, and other regionally accredited universities offer training that comes with a certification (no seperate exam). Prices vary widely to say the least. Can you offer opinions on which of the lower cost certification options is the most widely recognized?
