Six Sigma can be perceived as slow and arduous, says Tom Goodwin, Director of Lean Six Sigma at Motorola Mobile Devices, but it doesn’t need to be. The key, he says, is understanding the "why". Tom joins PEX Network to share his best practice tips for rolling out Six Sigma across an organization and explains how the focus of Process Improvement has changed at Motorola over the past five years. He talks about how he keeps people in the organisation enthusiastic about improvement when it starts to fall down the priority list and suggests how this can be replicated within organizations without Motorola’s depth and range in Six Sigma. The interview also touches on the key Lean Six Sigma success stories at Motorola, and how to facilitate a smooth organizational change and leverage change for transformation. Finally, Tom offers his top tips for organisations using Lean Six Sigma through change to avert common stumbling blocks.
