Catalent Pharma Solutions, a supplier to the pharmaceutical industry, reviews its operational excellence metrics - Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost - from a customer perspective on a weekly basis. Those metrics - displayed in a balanced scorecoard - form the backbone of their continuous improvement programme and helps to make sure that they're on track to deliver worry-free and consistent products and services to their customers.

The company set up their continuous improvement programme three years ago and have now grown to run 200+ Kaizens per yar with 100+ trained green belt resources. Since the programme was set up, they have improved safety by 63% and increased the number of on time customer deliveries from 88% (in 2009) to 99% last year. For their outstanding results, Catalent Pharma Solutions received a PEX Network honorary mention for Best Mature Business Improvement Programme.
