"The more you talk, the less they learn": Lessons on Lean transformation in healthcare from Tanzania

Add bookmark

Michael Grogan is an Irishman who was working in Lean manufacturing in the United States for many years until a holiday to Tanzania a couple of years ago opened his eyes up to what he calls one of the largest humanitarian crises on the planet: the state of healthcare in Africa.

After returning to the country several times following his initial vacation, he eventually made the decision to move to the country and started work as a Lean Coach for CCBRT, a disability and maternal healthcare provider in Tanzania.

In this Process Perspectives podast, he talks more about what was behind his decision to move to Tanzania, the impact he believes that Lean has had on healthcare outcomes there and why he believes that the most important change Lean can bring is a change in thinking.
