The University of South Florida has been recognized with an award at a global robotic process automation (RPA) conference. Scott Fontechia, MS, program coordinator of innovation and technology programs for LAUNCH at the University of South Florida, was named Reskilling Partner of the Year.
Hosted by Automation Anywhere, the Imagine International Conference brings together leaders, developers and innovators to share insights and celebrate achievements in RPA.

Equipping individuals with disabilities with valuable RPA skills
Since 2009, LAUNCH (formerly Learning Academy Services) has been at the forefront of creating innovative programming focused on improving employment and post-secondary outcomes of people on the autism spectrum. The LAUNCH approach promotes self-actualization, supports dignity of risk and seeks to help every person achieve their career aspirations.
LAUNCH has partnered with Automation Anywhere for more than five years to help adults with disabilities learn, practice and apply RPA and artificial intelligence (AI) tools, building confidence, earning industry-recognized credentials and gaining access to long-term career opportunities.
“We are thrilled to share that our work was recognized on the global stage,” said Fontechia. “This recognition highlights our commitment to equipping individuals with disabilities with valuable RPA skills and industry-recognized credentials through our Automation Program and Tech2Work initiative.”
The award is a powerful testament to the dedication of staff, the hard work of the participants and the impact of inclusive, tech-forward reskilling programs, Fontechia added. “We are grateful to Automation Anywhere for this honor and look forward to continuing our mission to create a more accessible and equitable workforce – one automation at a time.”

RPA market is at a pivotal inflection point
Last month, Gartner released the Magic Quadrant for RPA, reflecting a pivotal inflection point as emerging AI technology reshapes automation. Gartner evaluated 13 enterprise RPA vendors to help buyers make the best choice for their enterprise’s task automation needs.
“In 2024, the market generated $3.8 billion in revenue representing a healthy 18 percent increase YoY,” wrote Arthur Villa, senior director, analyst at Gartner. “However, AI innovations have introduced alternatives to traditional deterministic RPA along with the rise of enterprise automation platforms such as business orchestration and automation technologies (BOAT).”
