Global leaders share their business-driving automation success stories

A powerful panel reveal how their international companies transformed operations through intelligent automation to boost their bottom lines

01/19/2023

Siemens Gamesa, Coca-Cola, Payoneer, Maersk and Heineken have all undertaken large-scale digital transformation projects, with case studies shared in a panel discussion at PEX Live: Intelligent Automation & Robotic Processes 2022. The lessons they have learned and the technological solutions they have introduced can be applied to companies of all sizes.

At Heineken, Lyudmila Todorovska, the company’s global product owner – robotics, automation and low code development, said an “agile” approach was required to work with five teams and more than 80 countries when introducing chatbots, low- and no-code solutions and robotic process automation (RPA). “Document understanding” has been the focus for Payoneer, with Yulia Neroslavski, the company’s RPA domain lead, explaining how machine learning and AI solutions have been pivotal in streamlining formerly manual processes.

Maersk product head – global process owner Vineet Mehra said the company had balanced “big technology development” with leveraging “smaller, bolt-on tools” such as RPA and AI, to keep the business running smoothly. Jon Atienza, intelligent automation manager at Coca Cola, made the case for a change management-led digital transformation process, and Mark Ghibril, senior vice-president of IT and digital products at Siemens Gamesa, advocated for ensuring the practical aspects, such as staffing and technology licenses, were in place along with ongoing operational capacity.
