Salesforce to acquire process intelligence firm Apromore

Michael Hill | 10/10/2025

Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire process intelligence firm Apromore. The acquisition will bring Apromore’s deep domain expertise in process optimization directly into the Salesforce platform.

This is a significant step in accelerating Salesforce’s innovation in agentic process automation, giving customers a unified, real-time view of how their business processes run across front, middle and back office systems, according to the announcement.

The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2026, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions.

Almost a quarter (23 percent) of surveyed firms use process intelligence to support business transformation, the PEX Report 2025/26 found. Furthermore, 22 percent are planning to increase investment in process intelligence in the coming year.

Salesforce gains a full-spectrum of process intelligence capabilities

The acquisition of Apromore will provide a full-spectrum of process intelligence capabilities that accelerate Salesforce’s agentic process automation vision, stated a press release. These include:

  • End-to-end process visibility: Apromore delivers a unified, comprehensive view of business processes across all systems and applications including Salesforce and other key enterprise platforms, eliminating operational blind spots and enabling greater transparency.
  • Enabling agentic automation: By mapping and analyzing business processes, Apromore lays the groundwork for Agentforce and Salesforce’s automation initiatives. Its insights help identify high-impact opportunities for agentic automation and drive operational improvements aligned with key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Measure, simulate and optimize: With capabilities like process mining and task mining, digital twins and simulation, root cause analysis and intelligent compliance assurance, Apromore empowers organizations to measure performance, test potential changes and continuously optimize processes to achieve better outcomes.

Delivering process intelligence at scale

“Apromore gives customers the end-to-end visibility they need to understand how their business truly operates,” said Steve Fisher, president and chief product officer at Salesforce. “As our teams integrate Apromore into Salesforce, that insight will be critical to enabling our customers to unlock opportunities to measure, optimize and automate through agentic process automation.”

For over a decade, Apromore has been dedicated to democratizing process intelligence through cutting-edge research, said Marcello La Rosa, CEO and co-founder of Apromore. “Joining Salesforce is the ultimate acceleration of that vision. The majority of our customers already deploy our technology on Salesforce and now, we can help enterprises around the world eliminate operational blind spots and drive measurable improvements at an unprecedented scale.”

Process intelligence is the foundation of AI success

Process intelligence provides the critical foundation for enabling successful artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, wrote Diego Borquez. regional business process manager for Latin America at Pacific International Lines and PEX Network Advisory Board member. “AI delivers real value when it operates with context, and process intelligence could provide that context.”

Instead of assuming how operations should run, process intelligence uses real data to show how they actually do, stated Borquez. That distinction is crucial. Bottlenecks, deviations and hidden patterns become visible

With this insight, leaders can focus where it matters most. “Process intelligence doesn’t guarantee success, but it creates conditions where AI can detect risks, support decision-making and scale automation in ways that are meaningful and measurable.”

Without understanding the real process, AI risks becoming noise. With visibility, it has the chance to become impact.
