EPISODE 7
The Three Tribes:
The Evolving CV of the Chief Transformation Officer
0:00 / 45:00
Host

Speaking with Peter Bancroft, Chief Transformation Officer, Rubix

At our European Chief Transformation Officer Boardroom in October, Peter Bancroft spoke to the need for CTROs to broaden their already impressive skillsets. As part of a panel focused on ensuring that AI investment is tied to tangible value, Peter introduced his concept of the Three Transformation Tribes:  Change Managers, Digital Transformation Gurus and Value Creation PE Architects. In this episode, Peter introduces each "tribe", explaining how the CTRO can draw on the expertise of them all to deliver Transformation value in an era of constant change, macro upheaval and AI adoption.

Questions for this episode include:

  • What does the Three Tribes concept teach us about the demands placed upon CTROs today, particularly when it comes to their relationship with Technology?
  • Does a conventional approach to change management still have a place in an operating environment defined by "always-on" transformation?
  • What opportunity do the challenges of the present create for CTROs to deliver a more robust, sustainable approach to enterprise value creation?
  • Given longer holding periods are now a fact of life for Operating Partners, are there different lessons which PE CTROs can draw from their colleagues in enterprise?

Episode 6
The Transformational CIO
0:00 / 45:00
Host

Speaking with Reto Sahli, Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at HAVI

In an environment where technological reinvention has become a survival imperative for global business, it is no wonder that the topic of Transformation has been embraced by leaders far beyond the core change team. Long a natural home for large-scale technology integrations like the ERP, the IT function – and the CIO leading it – has a vital role to play in the rollout of agentic.

In this episode, Reto Sahli, Group Chief Digital and Information Officer at HAVI, gives us his take on the CIO as a Transformation leader, the differences between a “run” CIO and a “grow and transform” CIO, and how the CIO’s evolving skillset can help to derive maximum value from AI adoption.

Topics for this episode include:

    • Eliminating functional siloes to enhance the impact of new technology
    • Striking a balance between technology, process,  data and transformation
    • Assessing the role of the ERP within the AI-powered enterprise
    • Balancing the need for speed with the need for security
    • Applying business context to technology rollouts to smooth integration and increase value

Episode 5: Re-Imagining the Way we Work

In this special episode of Transformation Talks, Ben sat down with Jessie Qin, EY Global Consulting AI Go to Market Leader, Global Data Officer

Filmed just ahead of our CIO Exchange, (of which EY is the Lead Sponsor) Jessie explored the CIO as a Transformation leader, considering how their role is evolving from pure technology leader to being a natural bridge between new capability and business value creation.

Listen in to understand the importance of shifting our mindset - rather than just our toolset or skill set - to fundamentally reimagine the way we work. As Jessie explains, by building with AI rather than bolting it on to legacy systems and processes, we have a unique opportunity to enhance that all-important ROI from today’s AI investments.

Episode 4: Navigating Uncertainty
Reflections with McKinsey on North America’s
Chief Transformation Officer Boardroom

We’re back with another on-site episode of Transformation Talks. Recorded at the Business Transformation World Summit in January 2026, we’re joined on the Pod this time by Dominic Skerritt, a Partner with McKinsey & Company’s Transformation Practice

In this conversation, Dom shares key takeaways from the Chief Transformation Officer Boardroom, an exclusive BTWS convening for senior transformation leaders, which McKinsey hosted as Knowledge Partner. Listen to this episode to understand why and how the disruptive power of agentic is driving demand for Transformation capabilities, how the purpose and output of Transformation is evolving to meet growing macro uncertainty, and how Transformation leaders can balance long-term strategic vision with day-to-day program execution.

Episode 3: An Easier Life?
Building the AI-Enabled Transformation Office

Recorded on-site at the Business Transformation World Summit in Miami, we're joined on the Pod by Nellie Wartoft, CEO of Tigerhall.

Following her packed-out keynote, Nellie talks us through her vision for the AI-Enabled Transformation Office. With a strong reputation for moving Transformation from vision through execution, Nellie explains how AI can be applied to the fabric of the TMO itself – thereby generating far greater value for the enterprise.

Episode 2: Finding The Spark
Designing Transformations that Stick

Following last episode's look at ESG Transformation, this conversation welcomes back former interviewee Milan Lakhani, of Konica Minolta, this time as a guest host. Joining us on the Pod is Kanak Tripathi, Former Head of Transformation from Swiss Re Solutions

Here we discussed why a non-holistic approach to designing and building transformations can often work against their enduring impact - or "stickiness" - and how debunking our approach to transformation design can change that.

Episode 1: Sustainability and Business Transformation

In anticipation of Business Transformation Europe Summit 2026, we kicked off Transformation Talks in 2026 with insights from
Milan Lakhani, Director of Digital and Sustainable Business Transformation at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Europe

In this brilliant conversation alongside Business Transformation's Ben Shirrefs-McClatchie, we discuss the crucial role that Environmental, Social & Governance initiatives play in Business Transformation.
