Diego de Aragão is a senior financial services executive and recognized Data & AI leader with more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of finance, treasury, analytics, and technology. Most recently, Diego served as the Senior Vice President for Finance Data Science & AI Enablement at Citi, where his work spanned enterprise balance sheet management, financial analytics, optimization, and AI-enabled decision support. Throughout his career at Citi and American Express, Diego has led complex initiatives across treasury, FP&A, data science, and financial strategy, including the development of advanced analytics and machine learning solutions for balance sheet optimization and the application of generative and agentic AI to finance and treasury workflows.
Diego is also an active industry thought leader and frequent speaker on enterprise AI, data strategy, finance transformation, and the economics of AI adoption. He has chaired and spoken at leading executive forums including CDAO Financial Services, MachineCon, CFO & FP&A Summits, CDO Magazine forums, and other senior-level Data & AI conferences, addressing topics ranging from AI ROI and enterprise adoption to data foundations, governance, and the future of finance. His industry contributions have earned recognition through Data & AI leadership awards and nominations, as well as his role as a Gartner Peer Community Ambassador for Data & Analytics. Diego holds graduate degrees in Analytics from Georgia Tech, Finance from FGV, Economics, and an MBA from IESE Business School, alongside a background in Computer Science and credentials including the CFA charter and Financial Data Professional certification. This multidisciplinary perspective enables him to bridge financial-services strategy, emerging technology, and practical execution—helping organizations translate AI innovation into scalable, commercially relevant business outcomes.
