Zurich Insurance has appointed two new artificial intelligence (AI) leaders to accelerate its digital transformation.
Terry Powell, formerly ANZ Bank and Domino’s Pizza, joins Zurich as group chief technology officer (CTO), and Cristina Ghetti, formerly Nestlé, joins as group head of digital employee experience.
They will report to Ericson Chan, group chief information and digital officer, and be based in Zurich. The appointments are effective October 20, 2025.
Zurich accelerates digital transformation and AI-adoption
The pairs “extensive leadership in AI” in the retail and FinTech space is “precisely the expertise” Zurich needs to enhance its digital transformation and further drive AI-adoption, commented Chan. “I am thrilled to welcome Terry and Cristina to Zurich. They bring a vital customer-centric approach that will significantly elevate the experience for both our customers and employees.”
At ANZ Bank, Powell led IT services transformation and cloud adoption. At Domino’s Pizza, he centralized global IT and launched AI and digital initiatives to enhance customer experience. As general manager for insurance technology at Suncorp Group, he simplified core insurance systems.
At Zurich, Powell will lead group-wide tech strategy, drive AI across its infrastructure foundation, strengthen system resilience, and drive efficiency and productivity with AI
Ghetti brings extensive expertise from her tenure at Nestlé, where she led the sector’s largest AI-tool rollout and integrated GPT-based tools for internal use. Her earlier achievements at Coca-Cola European Partners include delivering a multi-year digital roadmap and leading post-merger IT integration.
In her new role at Zurich, Ghetti will spearhead company-wide AI upskilling initiatives to strengthen AI capabilities by empowering and equipping employees with AI, driving AI-adoption and productivity across the organization.

AI innovations dominate 2025 Zurich Innovation Championship
On October 16, 2025, Zurich welcomed startups, industry experts, AI pioneers, customers, and investors to its inaugural Innovation Festival. This event sparked new connections and fresh thinking, bringing together some of the brightest minds shaping the future of insurance.
