Online fashion giant ASOS is optimizing its supply chain operations with process intelligence.
Through the Celonis Process Intelligence platform, ASOS is connecting its end-to-end supply chain to provide full visibility, transparency and accountability, enabling reductions in process variation, increasing speed to market and improving the customer experience, according to a press release.
As part of its long-term digital transformation strategy, ASOS is exploring ways to expand Celonis across multiple business functions, including purchase-to-pay, order management, IT service management and warehouse management.
How ASOS optimizes supply chain operations with process intelligence
ASOS operates in a highly dynamic and competitive market where speed to customer is a critical differentiator. With real-time process monitoring, it can enhance efficiency, reduce costs and continue to deliver outstanding customer experience.
Leveraging the Celonis Process Intelligence platform and its object-centric process mining (OCPM) technology, ASOS connects its product, inbound supply chain, logistics and outbound delivery and returns teams, providing a holistic, real-time view of the full supply chain process. This enables the firm to gain actionable insights into key supply chain performance metrics, which help drive faster, more reliable order fulfilment.
“With Celonis, we’ve connected our entire supply chain – from intake and inbound to outbound and returns – enabling teams to break down silos, streamline processes, cut costs and deliver the latest trends to customers faster,” said Laurence Moore, head of strategic projects, supply chain at ASOS.

Unprecedented insights into key operational areas
ASOS is a prime example of how leading retailers can use process intelligence to transform their operations, said Rupal Karia, general manager for UKI and MEA at Celonis. “Together, we’re unlocking the full potential of ASOS’ supply chain to deliver faster, smarter and more efficient operations at scale.”
With process intelligence, ASOS gains unprecedented insights into key operational areas including:
- End-to-end supply chain optimization: ASOS can now achieve full end-to-end supply chain optimization by gaining real-time visibility into its entire inbound logistics process. The company can efficiently track thousands of SKUs and shipping containers – from initial purchase order creation to final placement in distribution centers. This advanced supply chain visibility enables ASOS to streamline operations, improve decision-making and understand the impact of each logistics process on overall performance.
- Returns and carrier performance management: ASOS can track third-party carrier performance and SLA adherence. With improved supply chain visibility, ASOS is optimizing returns management and enhancing carrier performance tracking. These improvements are driving operational efficiency, reducing costs and boosting customer satisfaction – ultimately strengthening the company’s bottom line.
- Upstream and downstream operations: By providing insights into product performance, returns and pricing trends, Celonis helps ASOS’ commercial and merchandising teams make data-driven decisions on vendor investments and pricing strategies, ensuring better product planning. Celonis also empowers ASOS to enhance customer experience and improve cost efficiency through proactive communication. By identifying potential delivery or return delays early, the system alerts customers before they reach out to support, reducing call center volume, minimizing operational costs and boosting overall customer satisfaction.
