Reports about how artificial intelligence (AI) will render humans obsolete are great clickbait, but the reality for businesses is more practical and less about machines taking over operations. 

Ahead of Strategic Transformation & Operational Excellence Europe 2023, we spoke exclusively to Philippe Méa, Former SVP – Global Head of Business Excellence, Servier, and Ceccarelli Michele, Director Operational Excellence, Barry-Wehmiller, about how they have been driving transformation across global teams, with successes and challenges along the way. 

While these companies take slightly different approaches to transformation and employee engagement, Méa and Michele agree that digital solutions are not aimed at removing humans from operations. Indeed, the opposite is true – if anything, people are needed, rather than being removed en masse from companies.
