The Performance TALK - Having a productive conversation about performance

We have all heard about the importance of going to where work is done in the organization (“go to the gemba”) in order to better understand the opportunities for improvement. There are many guidelines available to help people do this in a way that is respectful and focused on mutual learning. However, Evolve Partners’ John Norcross and Ken Wiesinger have recognized that, in some cases, leaders become bogged down preparing exhaustive lists of topics and questions in advance of their process walk-through – all of which gets in the way of having an authentic and meaningful conversation with people about process performance. We share a simple coaching framework, which you can download now, to enable leaders and change agents to more easily hold productive performance “TALKs” with team members.
