Martijn Gribnau

Chief Executive Officer de Volksbank

Martijn Gribnau (1964) is Chief Executive Officer of de Volksbank.

He was appointed to the Board of Directors in June 2020. After completing an MBA degree at the University of Groningen, Martijn joined Nationale-Nederlanden in 1990 as a management trainee. Until 2012, he held various management positions within ING Group, both on the banking and the insurance side. During his time at ING, he worked in the United States from 1993 to 1998.

From 2007 to 2010, Martijn was CEO of ING Insurance Hungary and Bulgaria. In July 2012, Martijn left ING to take a sabbatical, during which time he worked for the Dutch Red Cross. Then, from 2013 to 2015, he was Chief Change Officer at IPsoft, a US-based technology company.

Prior to joining de Volksbank, Martijn was Chief Transformation Officer at Genworth Financial, also in the US.
