Rob joined Moderna in 2019 to lead their Operational Excellence team, at which point Moderna was a pre-commercial company with about 500 employees and a few early-stage clinical trials. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company went through the journey from initial virus sequencing to FDA authorization in less than 12 months and subsequently delivered nearly 1 billion doses during 2021. The team went through an unprecedented journey of acting with urgency, pursuing parallel paths and questioning convention to rapidly solve problems.
