Three years ago, on the OPEX Week stage, Martijn shared a compelling transformation story from when he was the COO and Chief Transformation Officer with Genworth Financial. Since that time Martijn has returned to his home country and is a member of the purpose driven “de VolksBank”. As CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, he is now responsible for the transformation of the 4th largest bank in the Netherlands to build a modern, customer-focused organization. He is faced with the additional challenge of the bank being state-owned as a result of the financial crisis, whilst his team, customers and country continue to navigate the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic. Martin returns to the main stage to share his learnings in his unorthodox energetic and direct style.
