The devastating earthquake that struck Haiti over a year ago killed hundreds of thousands of people and completely destroyed the country’s infrastructure. A few weeks after the quake, Russell Maroni, then an X-ray technologist at a Florida hospital, found himself in the midst of the disaster zone, trying to help patients in tents doubling as hospitals with limited equipment and few supplies. In that human catastrophe, Maroni found that Lean principles could be applied at its most basic level in order to better deal with the tragedy confronting them. Hear his story in this special Process Perpsectives podcast.

Maroni has published his diary and is also seeking to raise funds for Haiti. You can read more on the Lean 4 Haiti website.
