Is process excellence becoming more tool-agnostic?

Process excellence has been around in different forms for many decades. In some companies it’s taken the form of Lean process improvements, for others it’s Six Sigma, at still others it could be any combination of different approaches to process improvement. But there have been suggestions that companies are moving away from the implementation of a particular methodology and instead are mixing and matching tools from different approaches in order to achieve the desired business outcome.

In this Process Perspectives podcast, Scott Henschel, President of Potentia, a San Antonio-based consulting firm, and Director of Lean Six Sigma Training and Deployment at the Office of Strategy and Innovation at the Army Medical Department Center and School discusses the rise of tool agnosticism, common errors companies make in their process excellence deployments and strategies to avoid them.
