Martijn is a civil servant of the entrepreneurial kind. He is motivated to improve the public sector and enjoys initiating organizational change and solving real problems with innovative solutions. In 2012 Martijn was asked to shape, organize and lead the central information management department for the city of Rotterdam to achieve business IT alignment. In 2019 Martijn became head of digital strategy and is aligning european, national digital strategies with the digital strategy of the City Rotterdam and vice versa. He is a.o. responsible for portfoliomanagement, enterprisearchitecture, innovation and investmentprograms to achieve sustainable innovation. Talking about innovation: Martijn is incubator of the use of virutal assistants (chatbots, RPA) low-coding platform and is responsible for Rotterdams Digital Experimentation Centre. He is not the innovation addict, but focuses on added value for society.
