Gary Pilacinski serves as the Senior Director of Business Process Improvement Engineering for L.A. Care Health Plan in Los Angeles, California. L.A. Care Health Plan, is an independent, local public agency that began operations as a licensed health plan in 1997. The organization provides health insurance for low-income individuals in Los Angeles County through four health coverage programs including Medi-Cal. L.A. Care announced in 2017 a 5 year plan and a $20 million dollar commitment to address homelessness in Los Angeles County.
Gary has worked in healthcare for the
past 13 years, from large scale acute care facilities in Michigan, Oregon, and
Texas, as well as being part of the Mayo Clinic Network in Arizona. Gary
has also served as the Senior Manager of Quality and Process Improvement for
the AMA – American Medical Association in Chicago before relocating to
California to join L.A. Care Health Plan. Gary is a certified Lean Six
Sigma Black Belt in Business & Healthcare Operations, a certified Master
Trainer in TeamSTEPPS – Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and
Patient Safety, a certified Master Kata Coach from the University of Michigan
and a Certified Lean Executive Education Coach from The Ohio State University.
